The Lombax Secret turned out to be one of the last remaining Dimensionators, and during the final battle with Tachyon, Ratchet rejected the chance to go to the Lombaxes in order to ensure his defeat.Ĭlank was kidnapped by Nefarious at the end of that adventure, and after discovering his approximate location in Quest for Booty, Ratchet set out to find him in the Breegus System in A Crack in Time. Ratchet chased clues and leads across Polaris to find the Lombax Secret before Tachyon could use it, and his journey took him to the Apogee Space Station, where he met his eventual girlfriend Talwyn Apogee. Ratchet was left behind, sent to Veldin by his father Kaden before he was killed by the Emperor. That was when Emperor Tachyon, the last Cragmite, enacted his Lombax genocide and forced them to retreat to another dimension. Tools of Destruction took Ratchet to the Polaris galaxy, which would turn out to be his home: it’s where the Lombaxes fought and defeated the Cragmites, and where they made their last stand on their homeworld of Fastoon hundreds of years later. Aboard the Starship Phoenix, Ratchet had a brief relationship with Captain Sasha Phyronix, and successfully managed to convince Qwark to help defeat Nefarious after Qwark faked his own death to escape the responsibility. They were tasked by the President of Solana to retrieve Qwark, the only man who ever defeated Nefarious. Nefarious attacked Veldin as part of his galactic conquest. In Up Your Arsenal, Ratchet returned to Solana after Dr. The pair then teamed up to stop Fizzwidget and the Protopets. The thief turned out to be Angela Cross, who had stolen the pet since it wasn't ready for release. In Going Commando, Ratchet was hired by Megacorp CEO Abercrombie Fizzwidget (secretly Captain Qwark in disguise) to train as a Megacorp Commando and go to the Bogon Galaxy to help retrieve the Protopet experiment.

Ratchet has had many adventures over the years, taking him from Solana to the Bogon and Polaris galaxies. Though after spending so much time in retirement, he has begun to wonder- does he still have what it takes to be a hero? The last Lombax in his universe, Ratchet was a lonely, orphaned mechanic longing to find his lost family when he met his perpetual partner-in-crime.Ĭlank’s fateful crash-landing on Veldin led to the first of the duo’s many adventures together, traveling to the ends of the universe to protect it from villains including, but not limited to, Dr. His blasters are matched in skill only by his wrench-wrangling and his witticisms.
